Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- What is the difference between a line of credit and a term loan? A line of credit gives revolving access to funds as needed. A term loan delivers the full amount at once with fixed repayment terms.
- What documents will I need to apply for a business loan? You will need 3 years of tax returns, 3 years of business financial statements and balance sheet, personal financial statement of guarantor, business plan (for startups) and any available collateral information. Other items will be needed depending on your loan type and our staff will assist.
- Do I have to be a member to apply for a business loan? No, you do not need to be a member to apply. However, you will need to become a member to receive financing. Credit Unions have a specific field of membership. We serve members who live, work, worship or attend school in one of the following Michigan counties: Alpena, Presque Isle, Montmorency, Alcona, Oscoda, Iosco, Ogemaw or Arenac.
